The trolley did a good business to the lake yesterday. Hundreds of Auburnians longing for a glimpse of the beautiful Owasco took a ride in sunshine and rambled about at the foot of the lake. The water was dotted with with rowboats and canoes while a score or more of motorboats ventured out for the first time this season.

Police questioned two Auburn men after a young women told officers she had been thrown from an automobile about 5:30 a.m. today on Columbus street. The men, police say, claim the woman had jumped from the car once and they put her back in. When she jumped a second time, they left her.

Two area champions will be inducted into the local NAACP Hall of Fame this weekend for their long-standing commitment to bettering the community. Cordelia Carter and George Metcalf will be the guests of honor at the 29th annual Freedom Fund celebration at the Springside Inn.

Between them, Sisters Mary Gertrude, Mary Norbert and Joan Clare have served in the pastoral care unit at Mercy Health and Rehabilitation Center for nearly 60 years. But their long nursing and religious careers will come to an end when they retire later this month, leaving just two remaining nuns on assignment there, the fewest number since the Sisters of the Third Order of St. Francis in Syracuse became associated with the former Mercy Hospital in 1919.
