Jake Rothenberg pitched a complete game, allowing two earned runs and eight hits with nine punch-outs as the Skaneateles baseball team held off Solvay 5-4 on Friday.
The Lakers scored twice in the top of the seventh and Rothenberg held Solvay scoreless in the bottom of the inning to secure the win.
Matt Wild and Nick Augustine (two RBIs) each went 2-for-4, Jake Sherman had two RBIs, and Devlen Murphy also drove in a run.
Skaneateles (5-7 overall, 3-4 league) play Cazenovia at Alliance Bank Stadium Monday night.
Auburn 12, Corcoran 6
Bob Buckley was the story of the game for the Maroons, tossing just 38 pitches in five innings of work. Eric Conway closed the door, pitching the game's final 1 1-3 innings to secure the win.
At the plate, Auburn amassed 16 hits. Conway had three hits, Ryan LaRue had two hits, and Noah Donch went 2-for-3.
The Maroons (6-3, 3-3) travel to Cicero-North Syracuse Monday.
SOFTBALL
Skaneateles 6, Solvay 2
Terry Blessing went 2-for-4 with an RBI, Kara Buehler had a hit and two RBIs, and Alex Hughes drove in one run for the Lakers, who avenged a 5-2 loss earlier in the season.
Hughes also picked up the victory, allowing one earned run, scattering four hits and striking out four.
Skaneateles (4-6, 2-5) travels to Cazenovia Monday.

Auburn's Lauren Fedyshyn (two runs, one RBI) and Shannon McCormick (triple, three stolen bases, two runs) led the offense. Amanda Daum broke out of a slump with two doubles and two RBIs, Sara Doan had an RBI double and Maggie Race had an RBI single.
Brittney Babcock earned the win, throwing a complete game, six-hitter. She walked none, struck out nine and allowed one earned run.
Auburn got off to a hot start, scoring four two-out runs in the first inning, including a two-run single by Babcock.
The Maroons (4-7, 2-3) host Liverpool today.
