Cuff's 39 leads Union Springs

Matt Cuff was the medalist for the Wolves, carding a 39 to lead Union Springs to a 213-215 win over Groton. Tim Morabito added a 41, Michael Bean scored a 44, Sam Picciano contributed a 40, and Chris Shrimpton and Eric Hylwa each scored a 45.
The Wolves (6-2 , who moved into a second-place tie with Groton, play at Trumansburg Friday.

Weedsport 229, A-P-W 246

Chris Johnson was the day's medalist with a 41, Nate Grant shot a 46, Shane Stoffle and Sean Ashby each turned in a 47 and Jason Ryan carded a 48.

The Warriors (3-3) host Manlius Pebble Hill and Port Byron Friday.

GIRLS GOLF

Liverpool 202, Auburn 229

Megan Cahill led the way for the Maroons with a 51, and Mary Benedict added a 55. Mindy Fowler and Cristina Camardo also contributed to Auburn's scoring.

The Maroons (2-3) compete at West Genesee Monday.

Jamesville-Dewitt 229,

Skaneateles 235, Cazenovia 238

Krissy Ryan led the Lakers with a 45 and Ellie Youle turned in a 53.

The Lakers host Marcellus today.

GIRLS TRACK AND FIELD

Weedsport 86, Bishop Grimes 55

Kim Gilfus and Sarah Wignall each won a pair of individual events and combined in the same first-place relay to help lead the Warriors.

Gilfus won the 400 hurdles (1:16.8) and the triple jump (28 feet, 3 inches), and Wignall won the long jump (13-8.5) and pole vault (9-0), before the duo combined with Colleen White and Maria Barbaglia to win the 1600m relay. White also won the 400m (1:19.5) and ran a leg of the winning 3200m relay (11:27) with Amy Sanchez, Alyssa O'Bryan and Ashley Edmunds.

Sarah Lewis won the shot put (30-0), and Barbaglia was victorious in the discus (94-1).

The Warriors head to the Cayuga County Invitational at Auburn Saturday.

Pulaski 103, Cato-Meridian 37

Renate Mandy won the 100m (13.3) and the long jump (13-9).

The Blue Devils will compete Saturday at the Cayuga County Invitational at Auburn.

BOYS TRACK AND FIELD

Weedsport 100, Bishop Grimes 20

The Warriors took first place in every single event except one en route to victory.

Mike Greer turned in two first-place finishes, including the 3200m (10:41), which qualified the sophomore for sectionals. He also won the 1600m (5:01).

Zack Nevidomsky was victorious in three events: 110 high hurdles (15.9), triple jump (38-4) and high jump (38-4). Sean Daly won the 400m (53.4) and the 200m (24.7). He also ran a leg of the winning 3200m (10:23) with Jim Bos, Ryan Enos and Zack Field, and Daly, Brandon Jones, Ethen Gillette and Timothy Roden won the 400m relay (48.5). Field also won the 800m (2:19), and Enos added a win in the pole vault (7-0).

Abe Jordan won the 400 intermediate hurdles (1:16.3), Jesse Schooley won the long jump (15-1), Opie Jordan won the shot put (42-10), and Jake Ekross won the discus (108-1). Jon Bos, Jim Bos, Opie Jordan and Field won the 1600m relay (4:14).

The Warriors are in action at the Cayuga County Invitational at Auburn on Saturday.

Fabius Pompey 84, Port Byron 55

Against Fabius Pompey, the Panthers won the 4x100 relay (49.9), Dan Baldwin won the 3200m (11:12), Matt Rooker won the shot put (34-10) and Robert Yeomans won the discus (81-6).

Against S.A.S., Port Byron with the 4x800 relay (9:59), 110m hurdles (21.8), 100m (12.6), 1600m (5:12), 4x100 relay (49.9), 400m (62.5), 400m hurdles (70.0), 800m (2:20), 200m (25.2), 3200m (11:12), 4x400 relay (4:13), shot put (34-0), discus (83-0), high jump (4-10), long jump (17-5) and triple jump (32-9).

Port Byron is in action Saturday at the Cayuga County Invitational.

Pulaski 82, Cato-Meridian 59

Sean Peckham won the 100m (11.6) and the 800m (2:14.2).

Ryan Prosser finished first in the 1600m (5:02.2) and Andrew Gillis won the 200m (24.7), the long jump (16-8.5) and the triple jump (36-7.5.

Peckham, Nate Modafferi, Gillis and John Murphy won the 4x100 relay (46.8) and Peckham, Modafferi, Michael Davison and Murphy won the 4x400 relay (3:51.1).

The Blue Devils compete at the Cayuga County Invitational at Auburn on Saturday.

BOYS LACROSSE

LaFayette 16, Jordan-Elbridge 10

Joe Poppe led the offense with three goals while Kory Smart and R.J. Metz each found the net twice.

Kyle Merrill, Tom Guadagnolo and James Simmons had one goal apiece while Merrill had two assists and each Brian Belcher and Steve Major had one assist apiece.

Ken Bush had 11 saves in goal and Brian Murray had one.

The Eagles travel to play Bishop Ludden Friday.

TENNIS

Port Byron 3, LaFayette 2

The Panthers were victorious in all singles matches, led by Jack Morehouse, who won 6-3, 6-3. Adding victories were Pat Fagan (6-3, 6-3) and Frank Smart (1-6, 6-2, 7-5).

Port Byron and LaFayette will square off in a rematch today at LaFayette.

JUNIOR VARSITY

Jordan-Elbridge 8, Bishop Grimes 2

Nick Berwind and Jeff Shaw combined on a four-hit, 10-strikeout performance to lead the Eagles.

Christian Berwind and Cody Holbrook had two hits apiece including a double while Ben Snyder, Andrew Willsey and matt Simmons added key hits for Jordan-Elbridge.

FRESHMAN BASEBALL

Auburn 4, Central Square 3

Steve Titus drove in the tying run in the bottom of the seventh and Zack Clark went 2-for-3 and drove in the winning run for the Maroons.

Also leading the offense was Luke Christiantelli (2-for-4, double) and John Fiermonte (2-for-3, double, RBI). Jared Humphrey picked up the win, pitching two inning of relief and striking out three.

Auburn (1-2) plays a doubleheader against Rome and Utica Proctor Saturday.
