Lattimore to make announcement

The event is open to the public.
Legislature to hold special meeting
A special Cayuga County Legislature meeting will be held at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, at the Cayuga County Office Building.
Legislators will reconsider requesting the state authorize an increase in the county's Hotel and Motel Room Tax from 3 to 5 percent. Last week, legislators rescinded a bill requesting the state to authorize the increase.
Moravia candidates to appear at forum
Moravia school board candidates will be appearing in front of voters at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 9, in the high school cafeteria. The two-hour event will include a handful of prepared questions and an opportunity for the public to ask their own.
The nomination deadline for board petitions was extended to 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, because one candidate withdrew.
Six candidates are running for three, three-year terms. Incumbents Anne Haessner, Douglas Hart and Joseph Lorah are running for re-election. Sherri Bancroft, Steven Fland and Leigh Hess are also running.
