Diane Bostick bares it all.
The author of “Naked Feathers” took 20 years to compile the book of lyrics and light reading that Bostick said has helped her turn pain into laughter. Having resided in Florida, she has returned to Cayuga County and will present at Coffee 'N Cream in Moravia on Saturday morning.
As a survivor of domestic abuse, Bostick said the program will “bring to light the ridiculousness of growing up female in America,” through personal narrative and reading from “Naked Feathers.”
Although the show is probably best geared toward women, she said it is open to everyone who enjoys a mix of laughter and poetry.
The program is free, however any proceeds from items purchased will benefit the Cayuga Office for the Aged. She said she decided on that organization to help offset the rising costs of health care for those on fixed incomes.
“I felt this was the best way I would be able to present my book and benefit an organization,” Bostick said.
Ultimately she said the program, which she expects to run between 35 and 45 minutes, is a way to start the day in a positive way.
“I want anyone who comes to leave with a smile,” Bostick said.
