Amanda Forney broke the game open in the sixth inning with a three-run double to lead the Wolves to a 6-1 victory over Moravia in a softball game on Monday. Kelly Pinckney and Jess Kneaskern had two hits apiece, with Kneaskern having a triple and an RBI. Jillian Thomas drove in a run, and pitched for the win going six innings with eight strikeouts.
For Moravia, Haley Potter had two hits, and Leah Hilliard fanned eight while surrendering 10 hits.
The Wolves (5-4, 5-2) play at Southern Cayuga today in a matchup that has already been rained out twice.
LaFayette 5, Port Byron 4
Even though LaFayette jumped out to a 3-0 lead after one inning, the Panthers clawed back and tied the score 4-4 in the fourth inning, but the Lancers hit a walk-off double in the bottom of the seventh for the victory.
Shelby Gilbert was 4-for-4 with a double, an RBI, a run and three stolen bases, and Melissa Deyo smacked three hits with a run and three stolen bases. Alison Short had two hits (double), an RBI and a stolen base, Nica Dare had a hit and a run, Tara Pitcher had a run and an RBI, and Courtney Christina had an RBI.
Deyo faced 32 batters and fanned two while giving up five hits.
Southern Cayuga 15, Marathon 0
Julie Hewitt and Lianna May combined on a one-hitter, with Hewitt striking out four in two innings, and May fanning five.
Molly Osterhoudt had three hits for the Chiefs, including two doubles, Hewitt had a pair of doubles and three RBIs, Lindsey Doeing had a triple and three RBIs, and Stephanie Piechuta had two hits.
The Chiefs (7-1) host Union Springs today.

Auburn 20, Utica Proctor 5
Jamie Bruno led an explosive Auburn attack with four hits and four runs scored. Sarah Wild and Laura Barnard had three RBIs apiece. Sam Bruno was the winning pitcher.
