HIT: To the return of the Adams Foundation Piano Series to Auburn.
The series has been bringing world-class pianists to the city for several years, and once again, this year's performer did not disappoint. Robert DeGaetano thrilled the audience of roughly 200 people at Westminster Presbyterian Church on Sunday with his talents and his showmanship.

This series has truly been a blessing for this community each year.

HIT: To the restoration of the “Group of Men on Picnic” painting at the Cayuga Museum.

West Lake Conservators of Skaneateles has given this unique work by George Clough new life. Preserving paintings like this takes painstaking dedication, but the results are worth it. We urge people to check out the results by visiting the museum on Genesee Street in the near future.

MISS: The tragic death of a state trooper last week took another troubling turn when it was revealed he was killed apparently by friendly fire.

The trooper was fatally shot in a chaotic scene at a Delaware County farmhouse standoff with a man wanted for shooting another trooper the day before. The suspect was also killed in the incident and the farmhouse burned down.

State police have been hit by tragedy repeatedly. Three state troopers have now been killed in the line of duty in a little more than a year.

HIT: To the friends and family who organized a benefit Sunday for Clide “Al” Densley.

Densely, a longtime employee at TRW in Auburn, recently learned he had renal cell cancer that has started to grow in a bone in his back.

The outpouring of support on display Sunday and the time leading up to the benefit cis a reflection of the impact Densely has had on the lives of people who know him.
