Moravia baseball taking registrations
The Moravia summer legion baseball team will hold registration at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 6, at Ettinger Field in Moravia. All boys up to age 19 are eligible.

Women's baseball league in the works

The Upstate Women's Baseball League now is being formed. Any woman who is at least 18 years old by June 1, is eligible. Registrations can be sent to

maricci@hotmail.com with name, address and date of birth.

Any woman interested in umpiring may also register. A training program will be provided for all interested.

The league, which will be amateur in focus, is also seeking businesses interested in sponsoring a team, or any group that has a team that might like to participate in the program.

Arsenal soccer to hold sign-ups

The Auburn Arsenal Soccer Club will be holding registration from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, and Thursday, May 10, at Seward School.

There will also be registration Saturday, May 5, at 85 Lake Ave. during the Lake Avenue Garage Sale. The league is open to all girls who are residents of the Auburn Enlarged School District currently in grades first through sixth.

YMCA golf league getting under way

The Auburn YMCA will again be running a co-ed golf league at the Lakeview Golf Course.

The 14-week league is scheduled to start Monday, May 21. Tee-off time is between 4 and 5:30 p.m. on Mondays.

The league format is two-person teams. Players should register with a partner if they have one.

Registrations are being accepted on a first-come basis at the membership desk. Registrations can be taken over the phone using MasterCard, Discover or Visa. Deadline is Friday, May 4.

Soccer team seeks equipment donations

The varsity soccer teams at Union Springs High School are currently working on a campaign to collect your unwanted soccer equipment to donate to The Lighthouse School in the Dominican Republic.

Two soccer club members will be traveling to the region in July to deliver the equipment.

Cheerleading tryouts begin in May

Tryouts for the 2007-08 CNY Storm All-Stars will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. May 14-16. All area cheerleaders and gymnasts are welcome to attend.

There are teams for all ages and ability levels and everyone is placed on a team.
