Lakers fall in extras

Jake Rothenberg kept the Skaneateles baseball team in it for the long haul, as the Lakers took Bishop Ludden to extra innings on Sunday, but he eventually surrendered the game-winning run in the eighth inning in a 2-1 loss.
Rothenberg pitched 7 1-3 innings and had three strikeouts while giving up just five hits, three walks and two earned runs.

Matt Wild scored the lone run for the Lakers on a solo home run in the first inning. Devlen Murphy was 1-for-3 with a double.

Skaneateles (3-6, 1-3) plays at Jordan-Elbridge today.

GIRLS LACROSSE

Katie Austin scored five times for the Eagles during Saturday's game, and Marge Bailey added two goals and two assists. Hanne Bailey had a pair of goals, Katie Dungey had two assists, and Rianne Farrugia and Jessica Young each scored a goal.

Alicia Olmstead made eight stops between the pipes.

The Eagles (2-4) face Auburn today.
