Palesh to appear on ‘Inside Government'
Appearing this week on “Inside Government with Guy Cosentino” will be Auburn City Manager Mark Palesh.
The discussion will cover proposals for the 2007-08 budget, unveiled on Thursday, and the manager's new job.
The show will air at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, on Time Warner Cable channel 12.
“Beyond the Front Page with Guy Cosentino” will feature Auburn Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees President Robert K. Bergan and AMH Administrator Scott Berlucchi, who will discuss the hospital's Chapter 11 bankruptcy petition and the hiring of Berlucchi.
The show will air at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, on channel 12.
Also, the annual Auburn school board candidates forum, will air at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 3, on Channel 12.
Locke's gardens to be cleaned May 19
Locke Community Development will clean the town's gardens Saturday, May 19.
The group will meet at 8 a.m. at Memorial Park on the corner of Route 90 and Maple Avenue. Participants should bring tools for clean up, such as rakes and pruners.
On Saturday, May 26, volunteers will plant flowers. They will meet at 8 a.m. at Memorial Park that day as well.

YMCA offering driving classes
The Auburn YMCA-WEIU is offering a six-hour defensive driving class from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, May 8 and Wednesday, May 9 at 27 William St., Auburn. The class is certified through the New York State Safety Program and makes drivers eligible for a 10 percent reduction on their liability and collision premiums for three years.
It may also make drivers eligible for a driving record point reduction.
Participants must be at least 16 years old and hold a current, valid New York license.
The cost for the class is $40 for YMCA members and $50 for the general public.
