Honor society to induct six
The following Auburn High School students will be inducted into the National Technical Honor Society from the Area Occupational Center: Chris Ecker, Nick Galka, Desarae Johnson, Josh Sigona, Josh Szkolnik and Chris Wild.
The event will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, at the Auburn Holiday Inn on North Street. Jackie Frost from JEF Computing will be the guest speaker.
The Creamery expands hours
Beginning Thursday, May 3, and continuing through September, The Creamery museum in Skaneateles will be open from 1 to 4 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

Hussey to teach landscape painting
Local artist Tom Hussey will teach a six-week landscape painting class from 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday afternoons beginning May 9, at the Schweinfurth Art Center, 205 Genesee St., Auburn. Cost is $55 for art center members and $65 for non-members.
Participants will learn the basics of composition and design, color mixing and essential painting techniques using oil or acrylic paints.
Pre-registration and payment is required one week in advance of class start date. A supply list will be made available. To register, call the center at 255-1553 or visit www.myartcenter.org.
Museum seeks artist submissions
The Cayuga Museum encourages artists to submit work for “The Streets Where We Live” an exhibit opening Friday, June 29.
The exhibit will provide an opportunity for visitors to reconnect with their sense of place by taking a step off the curb into the street. All artwork must depict the streets of Auburn themselves or neighborhoods along these streets. Whether contemporary or nostalgic in nature, the museum is interested in how the city's streets have captured the artist's imagination.
Submissions will be reviewed by museum staff. All submissions must be received by May 25 for consideration. Artists may e-mail digital photos, send slides via mail or drop off originals to the museum, 203 Genesee St., Auburn. To learn more, call 253-8051.
Museum offers West Point trip
The Cayuga Museum will host a bus trip to West Point and Hyde Park Saturday, June 30 to Sunday, July 1. Attendees will stay at the Thayer Hotel, tour the military academy and the home of Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt.
The bus will depart Auburn at 7 a.m. June 30 and arrive at West Point around 12:15 p.m. where a guide will speak on cadet life and history of the academy. The next day, visitors will tour Hyde Park.
Cost per person is $289 for a double, $275 for a triple and $375 for a single. This includes a $30 tax-deductible donation to the Cayuga Museum.
A deposit of $100 per person will reserve a spot. Payment is due in full by May 18.
