Bush sets double standard for endangering citizens

Saturday, April 28, 2007 12:22 AM EDT

In his news conference recently, President Bush criticized the Virginia Tech officials for allowing the shooter to remain on campus, thus putting the students in harm's way.
The shooter had been diagnosed as mentally incompetent.

Has he forgotten that by declaring war on Iraq, he put our troops in the same position?

There seems to be a double-standard here.

" That this letter appears as it was written. Often, the editors at the crapizen remove parts of letters to make them "fit" without regard to content and English. If only they would do the same with that horrible writer Judy! "

" Why would the Citizen choose to print such an ignorant statement? M. E. Morgan: read your comment aloud to yourself in a nice quiet place..............now who sounds mentally incompetent? "

" My views on the war aside, how can you even compare a student being killed while tiring to get an education,, to our service men and women that are fighting in a WAR. While I will live forever in their debt, honor them and raise my children to know that they deserve our utmost respect if for no other reason then they are willing to lay their lives on the line for our freedoms, we do still have an all voluntary military and going to war is part of what they signed up for. However, attending SCHOOL should not be a life or death situation. Regardless if you hate Bush or not, anyone with an once of common sense should be able to see a difference. "

" I think the person who wrote this letter should be deemed "mentally incompetent". You must get more that 2 or 3 letters to choose from... "
