A man already facing sexual abuse charges was charged by the Auburn Police Department with violating an order of protection by allegedly speaking to the alleged victim as she walked to a counseling session, police said Friday.
William R. Rouse, 36, of 21 Myrtle Ave., was charged with the misdemeanor of second-degree criminal contempt Monday.
Rouse is also facing three counts of second-degree sexual abuse, endangering the welfare of an incompetent or physically disabled person, and endangering the welfare of a child. He is accused of sexually abusing a mentally disabled family member at an Auburn motel on Jan. 5, police said.
In the most recent incident, Rouse allegedly approached the teenager Wednesday, April 18, in an East Genesee Street parking lot as the girl walked to a counseling session, police said.
The temporary order of protection was issued following Rouse's arrest on the pending charges.
Rouse is scheduled to appear in Auburn City Court Wednesday on all of the charges.
