It seems that spring may finally be here, and with that comes lots of activities at our local churches.
Sacred Heart Church on Melrose Road in Auburn has many events happening in the coming months. Its youth group, led by Anna Comitz, will be attending the Jr. Hi Rally in Seneca Falls tomorrow.

The youth group will also be sponsoring a bake sale this weekend after all the Masses.

In addition, Italian bread will be sold after the Sunday masses only. What a terrific idea.

A Mother's Day breakfast will be held at Sacred Heart from 8 a.m. to noon May 13, and everyone is welcome. The menu will consist of scrambled eggs, sausage links, pancakes, juice and coffee. The cost is $3 per adult and $2 for each child. Fathers and children will be serving breakfast to all the moms.

The Sacred Heart/St. Ann's CYO Golf Tournament will be held Sunday, May 20, at Dutch Hollow Country Club. Participation is limited to the first 36 paid teams and the cost is $60 per player for a four-person scramble format. The fee includes green fees and cart, buffet, prizes and more. This event is sponsored by the Sacred Heart Athletic Association.

The Sacred Heart Class Reunion will be held Saturday, May 26, and will bring together many former students of Sacred Heart School. This is sure to be a great time; three cheers for the Sacred Heart Red and White.

There will be sign-up after all Masses this weekend and next for the Parish Pictorial Directory. Olan Mills will be at Sacred Heart from May 27 through June 9 taking photos for the directory. This is so helpful in associating names, faces and the names of fellow parishioners.

Sacred Heart Parish will also be hosting the ceremony for the St. Joseph's School graduation June 14 and also a Father's Day Brunch June 17.

In other news

€ St. Alphonsus Church on Genesee Street in Auburn will hold its monthly Eucharistic Adoration from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 29. This takes place the last Sunday of every month. Everyone is invited to come and spend some quiet time with Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament.

€ May is the month of Mary, and May Devotions at St. Alphonsus will begin Monday, May 7, at St. Alphonsus Church. This beautiful Marian devotion takes place each Monday evening with recitation of the Rosary and closes with a May Crowning of Mary and a Living Rosary on Monday, May 21. All are welcome. It's also a lovely tradition to make your own little May shrine at home by surrounding Mary with flowers from your garden.

€ Thursday, May 3, marks the 56th annual National Day of Prayer and Christ United Methodist Church will be hosting a catered breakfast at 7 a.m. at the Moravia Fire Hall, followed by a program of prayers by public officials and members of the community representing all walks of life.

€ Finally, don't forget, today is Holy Family Fun Day.

Have a great week and remember, God loves you so very much.

“My heart has been changed through prayer. If it can change one heart, it can change the heart of a nation.”
