Cheetos deli owners favorite junk food

Each Wednesday, The Citizen features someone in the food services industry from the Finger Lakes community in The Banks:
This week, we spotlight Dustin Orofino of the Downtown Deli.

Q. What is the one food you cannot live without? Why?

A. Seafood, it's so good and full of protein. There are so many different ways to make it, cooked or uncooked, like sushi.

Q. Fill in the blank. People would be surprised to know that even though I work in the food industry, when I am at home in the kitchen, I __________.

A. Boil hot dogs.

Q. What do you like most about the Finger Lakes.

A. The seasons and the terrains, with its lakes and gorges.

Q. If you were given $1 million to open your own restaurant, describeit and what type of food you would serve.

A. An Italian seafood restaurant.

Q. Where would it be located? Why?

A. In Seattle, I used to live there and the food culture is amazing.

Q. On the day of your restaurant's grand opening, if you could select anyone in the world to be your first three guests, who would they be?

A. I always liked Hunter S. Thompson, Wolfgang Puck and Morimoto from “Iron Chef.”

Q. Describe your most embarrassing moment while working on the job.

A. When I started I didn't know the prices, and we had a big line of customers and I'm supposed to be the owner, but I don't know the prices.

Q. What is your favorite junk food?

A. Cheetos, I love the Cheetos.

Q. What have you learned are the top three ways to run a successful food business?

A. Customer service, good food and reasonable prices.

Q. If you weren't working in the food business what would you like to be doing?

A. I'd be running a recording studio or be in a rock band.
