The Cayuga County Women's Republican Club spring luncheon will start at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 28, at the Springside Inn, West Lake Road, Auburn. Randi Zabriskie of Jane Morgan's Little House of Aurora will host a fashion show. Cost is $15.

Barbecue to aid Cayuga celebration
A chicken barbecue, sponsored by the Fundraising Committee for the Village of Cayuga's Sesquicentennial Celebration, will be held Saturday, April 28, at Cayuga Memorial Hall, 6200 Center St., Cayuga. Orders can be picked up from noon to 3 p.m. that day.
Cost is $6.50 and includes half chicken and sides. Only advance sale orders will be accepted. To place an order, contact Bonnie Youngs at 253-5363.
Afternoon tea to celebrate spring
In celebration of spring an afternoon tea will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 28, at the St. Peter's Community Arts Academy, 149 Genesee St., Geneva. The afternoon will feature traditional English tea along with decadent sweets and scrumptious savories. Music will be provided by students and faculty of St. Peter's Community Arts Academy.
The cost is $20 per person with proceeds benefiting the academy. Seating is limited. To reserve a spot, mail payment to St. Peter's Community Arts Academy, PO Box 266, Geneva, NY 14456 by April 23.

Freedom Recreational Services is teaming up with Denny's in Auburn for a month-long fundraiser to benefit the agency's Freedom Camp, a day camp for special needs children. Every Wednesday in May from 4 to 10 p.m., Denny's will donate 10 percent of each purchase to the group.
Freedom Recreation Services provides education, recreational and social activities to children with special needs in Cayuga County.

NAACP to host Freedom banquet
The Auburn/Cayuga Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) will holds its Freedom Fund Banquet to support the local branch of the NAACP and its scholarship fund at 6:30 p.m. Friday, May 4, at the Springside Inn, Auburn.
Banquet tickets are $35 per person, and if you want to join and be a member of the NAACP that night, the total cost including the banquet ticket will be $60.
