To the irresponsible drivers on the road, especially when driving around Owasco Lake, please pay attention to the road. To the driver on Monday morning that didn't want to stop or try to slow down for the poor duck crossing Owasco Road, don't worry the guy driving in front of me in the other lane hit and killed it for you - I hope you are happy that my kids had to witness that!
The excessive demands of unions have ruined the American automobile industry.

Why would the new city manager ever consider buying a house in Auburn. First of all, he's not going to be here that long and secondly, when he leaves he will probably never be able to sell it for what he bought it for anyway. It's a losing proposition.

I've got a good idea. Why doesn't the city manager try to find a house on Orchard Street; that'll never happen.

That mess on the corner of Holley and Lansing Street, has been there so long. Isn't there a time limit on when they have to have it cleaned up.

What about Councilor Dave Dempsey living outside the city for 18 months or more. We're looking at the city manager who was just appointed, but Councilor Dempsey was already a councilperson who resided for 18 months outside the city.

Chou did the actual killing at Virginia Tech but America's lawyers made it all possible with all the threats of lawsuits on the universities, personnel, police and medical people by ACLU and others. It is no wonder this happened.

I, a woman, am jumping for joy that such a violent and horrendous abortion procedure is no longer legal. Abortion harms women physically and emotionally, and it takes away the rights of fathers.

With the passing of Dennis McNabb, we've lost another one of our heroes. Dennis served God and his country and he raised a great family.

Now that Fred Thompson's lymphoma is in remission and he will make it known, he will easily beat Rudy, John McCain, Newt Gingrich and Chuck Hagel and I will vote for him in the presidential elections.

Why don't people wait until John Walsh Boulevard is finished before they start complaining?

Inmate to guards ratio, 3 to 1; they really should take phones out of bars. I worked out there 31 1/2 years and 30 or 50 to 1 was acceptable.

President Bush has made a comment concerning Supreme Court partial birth abortion ruling: He said that protecting human dignity and upholding the sanctity of human life is a step toward the right decision. I wonder if he would make the same comment about aborting the war in Iraq.

Temporary public assistance is about helping you find a job, and getting back self-sufficiency. But if you can't pass a drug test, you shouldn't be given any taxpayer money until you can.

Japan's politicians have passed laws that prevent any citizen from having any kind of firearms. This total control of the people did not keep Mayor Iccho Ito of Nagasaki from being shot.

Your online NP is getting much better but there is no reason you can't get the obits in the paper in the morning. All other papers do it.

It's really nice to know that our top lawyers on the Supreme Court are also great physicians, because they know more about the wants and physical desires about women than the women do themselves. Bush needs to name more men of that caliber.

Corporate control, with available technological advances in communication, is in a position to replace our archaic public school system. The problem lies with the cowardice of the politicians who will have to face the powerful national teachers' union.

George Bush's Supreme Court appointees have helped uphold the ban on partial birth abortion. Finally, something really good has come from the Bush administration.

Education is teaching a child how to talk - and then how to keep quiet.

The Two Center who said the decision to abort is between her, him and God, forgets the pure innocent baby who is murdered. The same decision to murder an infant because it affects their mental or physical health will result in arrest and incarceration.

I wish The Citizen would have a police page of everyone arrested and convicted of crime. And not only their names, but put in a picture of that person so they really feel ashamed for what they did.

Since East Genesee Street is going to be totally revamped, the sewer and water system I am told is nearly 100 years old. What is the explanation from the city, I would like to see stated in the paper, why this is not replaced at this time.

Welcome to Auburn - sorry about your car...

" A woman who has been raped or a child who is a victim of incest or even a college-age woman who has been tricked with a date-rape drug can't be told "don't have sex" -- what a stupid, naive thing to say. The real world is not so simple, black-n-white. Reality is, accidental pregnancies happen to people who were not taking risks too. And the future welfare of the potential child should be weighed when making a decision -- sometimes it is better for the child not to be born into certain circumstances -- ones you small-minded people with your unrealistic, simplistic view of the world cannot even imagine. I can -- I've been there. Wanted the child, but did not make the choice according to what I wanted -- rather, what would be best for the child. The evil man who impregnated me on purpose would not have ever let that child get away from him and would have destroyed his/her life, twisted and hurt the child, would not have let me give it away or keep it away from him -- better not to give a child a sick, evil father like that, no matter how much I wanted to have him/her. The world is not the simple, pretty little place you like to imagine and people often have to make a choice between bad and worse, where there is NO "good" choice. Get over your high-and-mighty perspective, because you don't know if you haven't been there yourself. "

" I'm not even remotely close to being a christian, but I think abortion in any form is wrong. If people exercised a little more self control, or were safer about it, there would be less babies to be terminated. Life doesn't have to be "sexless", and of course I'm not celibate... first of all I take all the precautions I can, secondly, I can handle the responsibility of taking care of a child if one comes along. Besides, what is wrong with not having sex? I have a couple celibate friends, and I don't make fun of them for being "sexless", anyone who does is ignorant. I'd rather have friends that choose to not have sex until marriage than friends that are lining up at an abortion clinic. "

Chick and his lawyer met with an administrative hearing officer and Matt Fletcher, a labor relations attorney, Tuesday at the county office building. County Attorney Frederick Westphal said the next meeting date was set based on the various parties' schedules. The county had lodged charges of misconduct and incompetence against Chick, who was placed on paid administrative leave Dec. 26 over allegations that he replaced personal tools at the county's expense. Chick is to be sentenced June 5 in U.S. District Court on the charge of conspiracy to violate the federal Clean Air Act. "

I know that sometimes pregnancy does happen while on the pill or when using other forms of birth control, but waiting until the baby is moving and opening and closing there tiny little eyes, and they could survive outside of the womb is so disgusting! What is the difference between that and having the baby in a bathroom stall and killing it and throwing it in a dumpster someplace? It is so sad that it has been allowed to go on thus far! I am no better than anyone else on here, nor am I trying to come across that way, all I am saying is that there are other choices.. maybe not an all out Adoption, but what about a family member, or a private adoption? There are millions of people on private adoption lists.. so many that I do not know how any newborn could ever get lost in the cracks! You just need to contact the right agency to find out.. I know for many it is so much easier and so much quicker to just go ahead and get an abortion rather than do reserch on adoption, but it is not only sad for the unborn, but it is unhealthy for the women as well. This topic could go on and on. I am sure everyone on here has either had an abortion themselves or they know someone who has. This is a sign of the times.. and it is very sad "

It’s not that hard, if you do not want a baby don’t have sex, if you cannot afford a baby don’t have sex, if you are going to beat your baby seek professional help. Other wise stand up and be a real woman that excepts what she has done and acknowledges the consequences of her actions. " The subject matter at hand is indeed, about the Supreme Court decision to uphold the ban on partial birth abortion. That is what was stated in the two cents and what is being commented about. Fist of all why does it all come down to money, I would pay to support a baby, no matter how it got there with a lot less contempt then I would for the drug addicts and alcoholics collecting disability. Also the rape issue, if my daughter got raped I would not wait until delivery to take care of the matter, they have something called the next day pill, so you can stop the sperm from fertilizing the egg. However even if they did not have this, I would not condone my daughter “choice to" wait until the baby is old enough and ready to live on its own to kill it during delivery, if your going to carry it that long anyway then the only choice you should have is giving it up for adoption. It is not ok to kill babies just because they have really bad parents. "
