McKeon's consideration will never be forgotten

Monday, April 16, 2007 12:26 PM EDT

New York state chose the right man to honor in a memorial service - Bill McKeon. He was a well-known sight around town - his trench coat, fedora and friendly greeting.
The thing that I will never forget - when I made my first will, I did not have a large estate. He realized that and I still have the receipt for his fee -- $10.

How many other attorneys would be that considerate?

" I too enjoyed Bill McKeon. He was the only politician my size that I could look eye to eye with. His two oldest sons, I attended Carmel with, are fine gentlemen also. Off the record, I did not pay a dime to mess with him, Bill just called me my my last name, shook his head, and went on smiling. "
