Bush, Cheney take the cake for foolish politics

Friday, April 13, 2007 11:42 AM EDT

The year has just started and already the International Academy of Political Tomfoolery has announced its 2006-2007 Top Ten awards. As expected, Bush and Cheney were the biggest winners.
They easily garnered “The Lack of Proper Representation” award for their 217,864 times they forever spoke the words “What the American people want,” even though they never do what the American people want.

Then they easily took “The Slow Boat to China” award for their ever so slow response to Katrina.

Next, they were awarded the “Nothing There” award for all the times they said weapons of mass destruction were in Iraq, and they weren't.

The “I Love You Too” award was easily theirs for their total devotion and dedication to the corporate moguls, the fat cats of big business, chain conglomerates, oil barons, Haliburton and other billionaires.

Naturally, the “Who You” award was all theirs for their utter and complete failure to even recognize or do anything whatsoever for the other 99 percent of the American public they are supposed to be governing on behalf of.

The “I Am Out and AWOL” award was also theirs for all the times AWOL Bush opted for getting out of Washington to whack weeds at his ranch and hit the golf course. Cheney was also AWOL, was too often hunting quail.

The “I Remember You” award also goes their way thanks to their unending devotion to Haliburton.

Conservative mouthpiece Billy Kufs easily won the “I Forgot to Remember to Forget” award for continually blaming the Clintons for what Bush and Cheney are responsible for.

Kufs also was a winner of the “I'll Do It My Way” award by continually bad mouthing “liberals” for everything and anything, when it's been the conservatives who are running the

country.

Finally, the GOP award (Goof Off Plenty) goes to the Grand Old Party who do little else but nothing, while Bush and Cheney continually wreak havoc.
