An Auburn man wanted on charges he burglarized a woman's home and assaulted her in the street failed to appear in Auburn City Court Thursday where he was scheduled to be arrested and arraigned.
An arrest warrant is outstanding for Anthony L. Daniels, 28, of 47 West St., for two felony charges of second-degree burglary, the felony of second-degree contempt and the misdemeanors of second-degree criminal contempt and third-degree assault.
City police said Daniels broke into a woman's North Fulton Street home March 27, in violation of an order of protection.
The woman first heard a knock at the door and then heard someone climbing through a window, police said. The woman fled outside of her house at the sound of the intruder, where Daniels allegedly chased her and began punching her in the head, police said.
A motorist passerby stopped and helped chase Daniels away by blowing a car horn, police said. The woman suffered bruising and pain in her head, police said.
