WEEDSPORT - Before the season started, Joe Ryan and his Jordan-Elbridge softball team knew Weedsport was going to be one of the toughest non-league foes that they would have to face. The Warriors, after all, return nearly an entire roster from a successful 2006 campaign with one of the most relentless defenses in Class C. But with a masterful pitcher on the Eagles' squad who isn't exactly a secret herself, Weedsport also knew they would be in for a battle.
They just didn't figure that when they hosted Jordan-Elbridge on Tuesday, one of their biggest obstacles would be themselves. What started out to be an intense pitchers duel between Colleen Ryan and Warriors thrower Meghan Short turned into a mistake-filled outing for Weedsport.
