AHS softball hosting pancake breakfast
There will be a pancake breakfast to benefit the Auburn High School softball team from 8 to 10 a.m. Sunday, April 29, at Applebee's. Tickets, which are $5, must be pre-purchased.

Sign-ups to start for Junior Softball

Registration for the Auburn Junior Olympic Softball program will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 28-29, and May 6, at the Casey Park Arena. A $40 registration fee will be charged to all Auburn City District residents, and a $45 feel will be charged to non-residents.

There will be three divisions: ages 8-10, 11-12, and 13-14.

Golf league gets under way Tuesdays

The Earl Hayward Old Timer's League will play Tuesday mornings, beginning May 15, at Lakeview Country Club. The format is a nine-hole captain and crew with new teams made up each week.

Lacrosse camp to hold registration

The Auburn boys lacrosse program will be holding a series of registration periods from 9 to 11 a.m. April 7, and April 14, at Auburn High School for the both the 17th annual four-week summer camp and the enhanced version which will also enter young laxers in the Upstate Lacrosse Association League.

Program fees are $110 for the camp, and $175 for the ULA version and camp. Discount rates are available for multiple family members and all equipment is provided for those who need it.

Application forms are available at Liberty Lacrosse, Champions for Life, and Auburn High School.

Cycling event to cover 400 miles

Registration is now open for the ninth annual Cycling the Erie Canal, a 400-mile bicycling tour from Buffalo to Albany scheduled for July 8-15.

The eight-day recreational bicycling tour will help highlight the beauty, history, culture and recreational appeal of the canal system.

The registration fee is $520 and includes camping accommodations each evening with showers and toilet facilities, eight breakfasts and six dinners, two refreshment stops daily, guided tours of the Erie Canal, a T-shirt and water bottle, a sag wagon and mobile mechanical support, baggage transportation, daily maps and cue sheets, and marked routes.

A shuttle will be available for the beginning of the ride to transport riders and their bicycles to Buffalo.

Two weekend ride options are available, from Buffalo to Pittsford on July 7-9 and from Canajoharie to Albany from July 13-15.
