County officials may lift the boil water and conservation orders for the village of Cayuga early next week.
The clarity of water from Cayuga Lake has improved significantly and the treatment plant is consistently producing water that meets state standards, Cayuga County health officials said in a press release Thursday.

Friday's water sample will need to be tested over the weekend. Saturday will mark two weeks since runoff brought on by the spring thaw clouded the lake water and the orders were issued.

Village and town of Aurelius Water District 3 residents are advised to use boiled or bottled water for drinking, brushing teeth, making ice washing dishes or preparing food and conserve water until further notice.
