Families that pay the minimum rate for water and sewer service in Auburn could have seen their bills slashed by 60 percent Thursday night. But a decision to bring the minimum rate down from 15 units to six was tabled. Families that pay the minimum rate would save $33.30 on future bills if the rate dropped to six units. The city pays back around $4 million a year on the $56.7 million sewer project that started in 1994.
