Two Cents

Our board needs to start thinking of spending money where needed within our schools for extra support and resources where all of our children can benefit, instead of turf.
If any of you are worried about the mix-up of the bones at the cemetery tragedy in Wampsville recently, don't trouble yourself. When the soul and body are joined together at the resurrection of the dead for judgment, the God of the universe won't have any trouble at all sorting those remains!

I can't wait for 6 o'clock on Sunday night, when the Billy Kufs show is on, to give a moderate to conservative view on the doings both locally and nationally. It's informative and very insightful.

Yes, John Chick, who should know better than you how the county wastes money.

For the one who wrote about lack of communication at Southern Cayuga High School, you don't know the facts. That day Mary Kay Worth and the teachers had everything under control.

I think we all should run water lines directly to the water building and start charging them for our water - See how they like that. Why doesn't the city of Auburn make up a reason to get a grant for all their problems, instead of taxing us for everything?

" Yes, that was the dog who was killed by the female driver who didn't stop. See -- the dog was LOST, not just "allowed to run in the road," and by people who loved her enough to put an ad in the paper to try to find her -- so people can stop saying nasty things the owners and instead give them your sympathy for the loss of their dear pet. " Does Skaneateles not appreciate their employees? First, there was talk of getting rid of the Village Electric Dept., then the Communication Center is now on the possible chopping block, NOW they have taken away retiree health benfits. They hire a police chief that does not live in Skaneateles and a director of municipal operations that both have been employees less than 2 years and keep their retiree benefits entact. While the DEDICATED "non-mangement" employees that have given years of service are looked upon as "second-class" employees. If the village funds have been mis-managed for years than maybe an outside audit needs to be conducted to find out why the monies weren't being put in a reserve fund for the retirement benefits or to update the Communication Center. Hmm! very interesting! Is Skaneateles REALLY financially broke???? "

" People who are still complaining about the turf neeed to stop, we need turf the end! The kids on the football team would benefit very well and would make Holland Stadium a premier athletic facility, Get over the whole education exuce also, I think the Auburn Schools do just find at educating the kids who want to learn. The kids that don't want to succeed in life are you scape goats when it comes to the turf argument. Be relistic money can't buys a kids mind and make them want to learn. The reason some kids are like this is they have no home support. SUPPORT AUBURN SPORTS AND SAY YES FOR TURF!! "

" The school board needs all new members. I think the whole administration should also be fired. Someone up there needs to be a friend of the parents, teachers and students. Enough of the animosity between the groups. If the adults don't know how to play- get rid of them. PERIOD. No one in charge- no one an adult- I am sick of it. I pay taxes and they are supposed to do what I say and I am sick of every single one pandering to the others. PLEASE- SOMEONE WITH INTELLIGENCE- run for School Board, PLEASE. We need advocates for the children. We need a doctor, lawyer or someone with ANY sence , to help this horrible BEFORE we hire another administrator. If you haev any intelligence- please consider a run. I promice MY VOTE..... "

" why are their still two middle schools anyway? Why not just combine those into one big school, the kids are all gonna meet up when they get to AHS anyway, might as well make it sooner. that way the kids can't be judged anymore by which school they came from. "

" Please don't count a grant to come anytime soon. It is obvious that the "super" could care, he has his H2O. The cart was put before the horse in Springport, the grant should have been first, then the taxpayers could have been treated more fairly and yes we were able to voice our opinions at a public meeting, but as usual it was a waste of breath. Our "super_ could have cared less what we had to say. Furthermore, why are the residents being told to contact Congress, that is your job Bob, after all this water project was what YOU wanted, you should have more effort to keep the taxpayers your number one concern and not yourself. "

Grantless and Breathless in Springport wrote on Mar 27, 2007 12:17 PM:

" As far as "making up a reason to get a grant..." I doubt that will work. Town of Springport now has public water, coming from the city of Auburn. Our town officials decided to get us a public water source because some wells were becoming contaminated from the General Electric mess (that underground chemical plume traveled southwest). The town applied for a grant for a very real reason, as I just stated. WE HAVE YET TO SEE THAT GRANT. So property owners will continue to see an additional almost $650 tacked onto the county tax bill to pay for this water project for the next 30 years. Yes, we need the water. But, we were duped into thinking a grant would be picking up a majority of the expense. Whenever you get more service or convenience someone has to pay for it. My issue is with how we were led to believe it would be so easy to attain that grant. We still do not get any answers on it from the town supervisor, who simply states "The grant is tied up in congress. Write to congress", which I have done. But still nothing. So you better have a good set of lungs if you plan on holding your breath for a grant. "
