Conservation club to hold session
The Federation of Conservation Clubs of Cayuga County will hold a meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, March 26, on the sixth floor of the Cayuga County office building.
Mike Putnam, a Region 7 wildlife biologist will discuss the 2006 deer harvest and Owasco Flats WMA. The latest regulations on VHS fish disease will also be discussed, as will the status of the proposed youth hunting legislation.
After-hours entrance to the Cayuga County office building is through the rear parking lot doors.
Falcon Sportsmen meeting April 2
The Falcon Sportsmen Club will hold its monthly meeting at 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 2, at the clubhouse located at 2947 Turnpike Road in Sennett.
The guest speaker will be Don Fuller of Mustad Hooks and Captain Dave Wilson of Oswego. The topic will be newly developed, early spring trout and salmon tactics and equipment.
This was rescheduled due to the March 5 snowstorm.

There will be a mandatory coaches clinic for Fingerlakes Minor Soccer coaches from 9 to 10:30 a.m. April 14, at Champions For Life.

Cycling tour now accepting sign-ups
Registration is now open for the ninth annual Cycling the Erie Canal, a 400-mile bicycling tour from Buffalo to Albany scheduled for July 8-15.
The eight-day recreational bicycling tour will help highlight the beauty, history, culture and recreational appeal of the canal system.
The registration fee is $520 and includes camping accommodations each evening with showers and toilet facilities, eight breakfasts and six dinners, two refreshment stops daily, guided tours of the Erie Canal, a T-shirt and water bottle, a sag wagon and mobile mechanical support, baggage transportation, daily maps and cue sheets, and marked routes.
A shuttle will be available for the beginning of the ride to transport riders and their bicycles to Buffalo.
Two weekend ride options are available, from Buffalo to Pittsford on July 7-9 and from Canajoharie to Albany from July 13-15.
