Two Cents

Insurance company steering is illegal in New York state. You have the right to have your wrecked car fixed at the body shop of your choice.
I feel that the Auburn school district should now implement other individual months for other ethnic groups. What say, Mr. Roth and Mr. Plume, let's be fair to all.

I think the property owners on Fleming Street in Auburn should send the Auburn school district board of education a bill for maintaining school board property for the last 37 years. The school board wants to sell this 20- by 1,000-foot area to these property owners, but they should just give it to ‘em.

Don't we who live by Wal-Mart deserve the convenience of John Walsh Boulevard? Living in the Prospect Street area, I utilize it all the time.

Isn't it interesting that all the politicians, like Lockwood and Schumer, are fighting so hard against the Indians, while turning a blind eye to the state opening casinos at least eight race tracks. Then they try to say gaming in New York state is illegal.

Hmmm, self-righteous non-smokers: Sounds to me you know what you're doing is wrong if you call those of us that don't, self-righteous. I wonder if cigarettes weren't addictive how many people would be screaming about their right to smoke.

" Has anyone that reads this ever been associated with someone whom has been diagnosed with lung cancer? I have and I would not want to wish it on my worst enemy. Please---do not smoke. I wish there was a public forum showing actual patients and photographs of what uphill battle these people to through. And to think, most of it is by choice! Its a very ugly, degrading sickness. Lets not try to make people accept it with second smoke. "

" What a great accomplishment! Kudos for the just-concluded winter season teams in Union Springs. They received the highest rating for its boys and girls basketball, cheerleading, indoor track and wrestling teams for sportsmanship." Go Wolves!!!!!! "

" Did someone forget that second hand smoke is not the only cancer causing factor out there. Get off the band wagon and start looking into other things that are bad. Like say car pollution and the factories just to mention a few. Everyone wants to Beotch about one thing or another and yet 9 times out of 10 they themselves are the ones who do the same thing they are griping about. "

" I honestly don't care if you smoke- if you want to waste $5 on a pack of cigarettes, be my guest. But please- have the common decency to put your cigarette butts in the provided receptacles. They are there for a reason. "

" I dont smoke and yes, smokers bother me when I have to breathe their second hand, cancer causing, carcinogens. It bothers me even more when there are people in front of an entrance way smoking because they dont have the decency to walk further, or out of pure laziness, and my children have to walk through their disgusting smoke. I cant stand the smell, it is proven to be horrible for you, and what kind of message does that send to kids when trying to raise them not to smoke? All smokers should have to smoke like the Wal-Mart employees, segregated with no lights on so nobody can see you! "

" This smoking crap really is getting annoying.. I am not a smoker, but smokers do not bother me. I don't see why people are so immature about the topic! A smoker has the right to smoke, just like us non-smokers have the right to drink alcohol or chew tabacco. I just think that since no one is breaking the law by smoking, they should just be left the heck alone.. Let's start a new topic that is going to last for the next few month's like this one has.. how about abortion? Just becasue it's legal, it doesn't mean it's not murder! How do other's feel about that? I don't see anyone throwing stones at those people, especially the one's that use abortion as their only means of birth control- "

" "No good complaining scum?" Hey, Citizen, what happened to your own rules, listed below: "No comments may contain personal attacks, insults or threats." That sounded like a personal attack and nothing to do with the subject at hand to me. How about applying your own rules so we can improve the image of Two Cents in the eyes of those who so rightfully complain about the tenor of the content found here. Geez.... "

You should get a life and tell me when you do. I will mark it on my calandar and celebrate it every year. "

" and even hours must be your topic pod? I agree park legally and you don't have to worry about a ticket, however police do know who owns a vehicle just by running the numbers on the registration sticker, unless that of course is expired and if that is case and the vehicle is parked on the street then they have the right to have it towed legally...lol. "

" I wonder if alcohol or drugs weren't addictive how much better you or neighbors would be?? personally I think if we outlaw smoking we need to outlaw beer & wine! I think it infringes on my right to ride safely on the streets. It also infringes on my right to not be emotionally and possibly physically abused! So if you promise to drink in your own home without bothering me I promise to smoke without bothering you!! DEAL??? "

pod wrote on Mar 19, 2007 12:27 PM:

" First of all, police do not know who owns the car. Is he supposed to waste his time for you? You should be more considerate to the neighborhood and move you car when the signs tell you to - not when you feel like it. So stop complaining, you deserve that ticket for not obeying the law. I never see the police there at 6 on the dot policing the miss parked cars, you have at least a half hour or more to get your lazy butt out to move it. "
