Port Byron baseball
sign-ups begin today

Port Byron Little League will be holding sign-ups from 6 to 8 p.m. today and tomorrow at the Port Byron American Legion.

There will also be registrations Saturday, March 10 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Openings are available for boys and girls, majors and minors.

Registration fee is $35 and $5 off each additional child.

Another chance to register in Moravia

The Moravia youth league will be holding another registration session for the upcoming baseball and softball seasons from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, March 10, at Moravia Elementary.

All boys and girls ages 6 to 12 are eligible.

Any new player must bring a birth certificate.

Softball clinic adds new session

There will be a softball pitching clinic for girls in grades third through eighth in the Auburn school district from 7 to 8 p.m. Mondays, March 12 and 19, at Seward Elementary.

The donation is $3 per session, and pitchers will need someone to catch for them.

The clinic is being put on by the Auburn High School coaching staff, current and former players, and invited guests.

AHS Hall of Fame seeks nominations

The Auburn High School Hall of Fame is now accepting nominations.

Forms can be picked up at the Auburn YMCA, Lewis Restaurant, or the Auburn athletic office on Thornton Avenue.

All candidates for the AHS Hall of Fame must be nominated by someone else, and once nominated that person will remain on the ballot.

Nominations must be received by June 30.

The banquet will be Nov. 3 at Springside Inn.

March on Albany

a week away

The Onondaga County Federation of Sportsmen's Clubs will participate in the Sportsmen's March on Albany, along with sportsmen from the rest of New York state on Tuesday, March 13.

The federation will sponsor a bus from Syracuse to Albany, which will leave Sam's Club parking lot off Erie Boulevard at 6 a.m. The cost of the bus is $20 and includes lunch. Seats are available through registration only.

Baseball sign-ups this weekend

Sign-ups for Boys and Girls League Baseball will be from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 10, and 24, at the Auburn YMCA on William Street.

The league is open for children ages 5 to 8.
