Pheasants Forever banquet, auction set
The Finger Lakes Chapter of Pheasants Forever will hold its 17th annual Banquet and Wildlife Art Auction at 6 p.m. Friday, March 9, at the Springside Inn, 6141 W. Lake Road, Fleming.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the group's efforts to restore, maintain and enhance disappearing grasslands and to educate the public about their importance.

Dinner only is $25, a dinner and membership is $50, two dinners and one membership is $75 and a sponsor membership is $250.

Cayuga wineries offer cure to blues

Break out of those winter blues and join Swedish Hill and Goose Watch wineries for the pair's annual Cabin Fever Days held from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. this weekend, March 10 and 11, at Swedish Hill and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., at Goose Watch.

Swedish Hill is located at 4565 Route 414, Romulus. Goose Watch is located on Route 89 along the Cayuga Wine Trail.

Moravia Rotary benefit goes Italian

The Moravia Rotary club will host a fundraiser for its community and youth projects from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, March 10, at The Cascade Grill, 2846 Fire Lane 1, Venice Center.

The “Italian Trio” consists of meat lasagna, spaghetti with marinara sauce, cheese stuffed ravioli, plus salad, rolls, coffee and dessert for adults, and spaghetti with meatball, roll, Italian dessert and drink for children.

The cost is $13 for adults, $10 for senior citizens, $6 for child's menu and children under 5 are free.

Jordan church to serve corned beef

An Irish corned beef boiled dinner will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, March 10, at the Jordan United Methodist Church, 63 Elbridge St., Jordan.

The dinner includes corned beef, potatoes, carrots, cabbage, onions, rolls, pickles, homemade pie, coffee and tea. Cost is $7.50 for adults and $3.75 for children 10 and under; children under 5 are free.

Country breakfast promotes real dairy

A country breakfast to promote real milk products will be held from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday, March 11, at the Fleming Firehouse No. 2. The breakfast will feature pancakes, eggs, sausage, bacon, muffins, milk, juice, coffee and tea along with free cheese samples and a baked goods raffle. Cost for adults is $5, seniors are $4 and children under 5 are free.

The breakfast will benefit Cayuga County dairy and the Dairy Princess programs.

Barbecue chicken for cabin fever sufferers

A cabin fever chicken barbecue will be held from 10 a.m. until the food is sold out Sunday, March 11, at St. Ann's Church in Owasco. Cost is $4 for half an order of chicken.
