Cafe to showcase fabric artist
Coffee 'N Cream will showcase fabric artist Sharon Bottle Souva during the month of March. Souva creates fabric handworks including wall hangings, collages and cards. Her works reflect a love of nature and texture and have been featured at the Schweinfurth Memorial Art Center, the Everson Museum, NY State Center for the Arts, various quilting shows and other regional and out of state museums.
Coffee 'N Cream is located at 165 N. Main St., Moravia and is open from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday; 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays; 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays, and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sundays. For more information, call 497-2705.
Cook sculpture forms Wells exhibit
The Wells College Art Department announces the opening of its next exhibition. A selection of mixed media sculpture by James A. Cook of the University of Arizona will be on display in the String Room Gallery from Wednesday, March 7, through April 6. The exhibit is free and the public is invited.
An opening reception to be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, and will offer an opportunity to meet the artist; light refreshments will be served.
Hamburger Helper offers helper grants
Hamburger Helper offers towns grants up to $15,000 to help complete projects through its Home Town Helper program. The city of Auburn has applied for a grant to help decorate downtown for the holiday season.
Awards are based on the merit of the project, including its impact and support from the community. Community members can show their support by logging on the Web site, searching for their community's project and sharing their comments. Awards will be announced on the 15th of each month through June 15. Projects which do not win that month will continue to be considered every month through May.

Red Cross looking for real heroes
Do you know a Real Hero? Someone who helped out a fellow citizen under extraordinary circumstances? Someone who has gone that extra mile to rescue another person?
The Cayuga County Chapter of the American Red Cross is looking for a few Real Heroes to recognize during the Red Cross Month Celebration Real Heroes Luncheon on March 28, at the Holiday Inn. Nomination forms are available at the chapter, 11 State St., Auburn or by e-mail at chapter@ccredcross.org.

Go Club is looking for new members interested in playing or learning to play the game of Go (also called baduk or weiqi). The club regularly meets from noon to 3 p.m. on the first and third Saturday of each month in the Children's Room at Seymour Library, 176-178 Genesee St., Auburn.
