A Hannibal man was sentenced in Cayuga County Court Thursday to six months in Cayuga County Jail and five years probation for burglarizing five northern Cayuga County homes and businesses.
Theodore "T.J." Lange, 19, of 962 Cayuga St., also was sentenced to pay more than $3,000 in restitution for stealing a safe containing $20,000 cash from a meat processor on Old State Road in Victory. Lange was sentenced for five counts of third-degree burglary.
Lange burglarized the meat processor on May 12; a Route 104, Sterling, residence between May 3 and May 16; a Fancher Avenue, Sterling, residence between May 15 and June 19; Bay Breeze Miniature Golf in Fair Haven overnight between June 1 and June 2; and the Springbrook Greens golf course in Sterling a number of times between May 3 and June 4. Bottles of alcohol, cigarettes, a shotgun, stereo equipment, tools, jewelry and thousands of dollars from businesses were stolen.
The sentencing of Lange's co-defendant, Dustin Johnson, with a last known address of 37 Muckey Drive, Fulton, and currently in custody, was adjourned until March 8. The case of co-defendant Ernest Ostrom, 21, of 14647 Center Road, Sterling, is still pending.
Other codefendants with a lower level of culpability have had their cases settled with misdemeanor pleas.
