The Moravia girls basketball team made a remarkable comeback. But Candor's clutch shooting turned out to be enough for the victory, Tuesday.
The Blue Devils overcame a 14-point halftime deficit to pull within three points of the Indians in the third quarter, but Candor's late foul shooting helped ice a 56-46 victory in the Section IV, Class C first-round playoff game.
“We just ran out of energy,” Moravia coach Lisa Hares said.
The Indians outscored the Blue Devils 19-12 in the final quarter, with the help of 11 points from the charity stripe.
Leah Hilliard led Moravia with 11 points, and Angela Potter and Claire Hunsinger added nine points apiece.
