Citizens have been seeking a community voice

Wednesday, February 21, 2007 9:16 AM EST

Because of the huge success of my TV show, most of you know me only as “Auburn's Voice of Truth,” that is why so many normal citizens of the area have asked me to write a letter to expose:
€ “Grants” of taxpayer money area politicians poured into left-wing quasi-political groups in Auburn such as BTW. Sure they buy votes, but don't do average taxpayers any good at all.

€ Radical liberal Katie Lacey's sorry letter complaining about The Citizen's “Two Cents” column that offers vision-challenged people a chance to participate in the political discussion. With all area local radio talk shows run by flaming liberals and seemingly every upstate newspaper, except The Citizen, just a Democrat Party newsletter, Lacey wants no conservative thoughts allowed anywhere.

€ The liberals in America took away holidays for Washington and Lincoln and replaced them by making adulterous, communist sympathizer and career law breaker Rev. Martin Luther King as the only American with his own national holiday. Disgusting!

€ The “Auburn Public Theater” for allowing a cross-dressing dance that by implication promotes homosexuality. This is a slap in the face to all the good two-parent families that try to teach their kids that homosexuality is not a legitimate alternative lifestyle choice.

" Kufs is lucky he lives in a country with free speech. In most countries Bill would be on the gallows. Kufs has become a joke and unfortunately he can't see it. He doesn't care how many people he hurts. "

" Ok lets see. Say, I'm hetero, I go see dudes dressed as chix dance, yeah that will do it, that will change everything. Everyone knows a manly guy turns into a gay dude any time a dude dresses like a woman and dances. Now, as it is, I ain't hetero, but even stranger is dudes dressed like chicks don't do it for me, I am afraid to say. Oh and I do like girls too. Uhoh! What's my choice to be; I have so many! Anyway, Kufs, it's no business of yours what I do with my junk and with who or anyone else's for that matter. "

" In the Catholic Church, homosexuality is recognized as biological. There is no debate there. The Church also states it is a special calling to remain celibate and rise above biology. "

" As someone who has battled Billy on numerous occasions in the editorial pages and on the telephone, I can tell all you nice people that it doessn't matter what you tell Billy or what proof--however incontestible--is offered. The truth is that Billy Kufs has found his calling as a "hero" to a small segment of the community who hate without reason, and out of ignorance and discontent with their lot in life. If he were to give up this role, he would "cease to exist", as it were, because his ignorance and bigotry have come to define him, and no matter how silly or uneducated it makes him sound, it doesn't matter. This tattered and shameful badge of identity is all he's got, and, like Jacob Marley and his chains, he's doomed (and content) to wear it on his sleeve for all eternity. I used to go after the guy like a pitbull; now I really just feel rather sorry for him; he is good for a laugh though, if you don't take him seriously. I think it's uproarious the way he tags everything in the world as "Liberal"!! "

" Hooray, Lee! It's nice to read such an intelligent and educated comment. Please continue to voice your "informed" opinion. "

Lee wrote on Feb 21, 2007 3:27 PM:

" No one is entitled to their opinion. Everyone is entitled to their INFORMED opinion. That means you should really consider the facts when you are going to make a statement, Mr. Billy. Let's start with your comment on MLK. It seems that you have failed to realize that while you defame and tear down modern-day liberals, such as MLK and Mrs. Lacey, the two men you argue for, Washington and Lincoln, where two of the most "flaming" liberals this country has known. They flew in the face of convention, they changed their world drastically, and changed the way the people tought. It was the liberals (although the label didn't exist back then) that changed our country into the one we enjoy today. The amalgamation of their birthdays into one holiday was for convenience, not out of disrespect, like your comment about one of the greatest civil-rights leaders of our time. Secondly, your arguement that a cross-dressing party would promote homosexuality is technically incorrect. It would promote transvestism, or transexuality, not necessarily homosexuality. A third example of how you should really try to do your homework before you open your mouth is that homosexuality is not a choice. Homosexuality is biological in nature, this is supported by several scientific studies. In one study, upon dissection of many female, hetero male and homo male brains, it was found that in the brains of women and homo males the third interstitial nucleus of the anterior hypothalamus was anatomically the same. Where as in hetero males it differed greatly. This is an area of the brain believed to involved in sexual drives and basic emotional processes. Though not ultimately diffinitive proof, this is more evidence than i have ever heard for the "choice" theory... Isn't it interesting though that the only people you ever hear voice the opinion that homosexuality is a choice, are heterosexuals? What would they know of it? As far as this cross-dressing party effecting the children, and the views taught by their parents, you have a severely limited view of today's world. If you think that this one small event is really going to have any impact next to the effects of todays media, you should really go turn on a TV, rent a movie or read a magazine... "

" Yet, again Mr. Kufs you've made me laugh a little bit mainly because I can't get mad at someone who has continuly claimed to be "the vocie of Auburn." I am one of the Female Impersonators who not only performed at Jesse Kline's Cross Dress party, but also I helped organize this event. The evening was filled with laughter and love, and even better there was not a single ignorant thought in the theatre. I can remember along time ago, you simply acused me of being an idiot for being who I am, why do you judge so many people in this town when for the most part you refuse to talk to half this community? I am a homosexual and I will not defend myself because I need not to defend something that is NOT A CHOICE. I also will not speak ill of you because everyone is entitled to their 'two cents,' even if that two cents is better off lost due to ignorance. I want to thank you for your OPINION! Love Madison DeVine Timothy C. Reitz "

" Remember when Lincoln's Birthday and Washington's birthday were two separate holidays, both on the men's actual birthdays. The reason they were consolidated into one day, always a Monday, was to make it easier for businesses and the Federal government, to give people a long weekend, not days off in the middle of the week. It had to do with convenience, it had nothing to do with racism. Why didn't Mr. Kufs protest this back when the change was made? It's ridiculous to put it down now to liberal politicians. And to lambast MLK because he broke the law is some nerve, didn't I read that Mr. Kufs was also convicted of law breaking? What a hypocrite! "

" I am married and my husband is an athlete and avid sportsman (hunter), both raised Catholic, and my son is gay. My son told me that he knew he was different back when he was in First and Second grade. There is no lifestyle choice at that age. People are born with their sexuality. It's really hard to believe that in this day and age ignorance is so rampant. Just a thought...Why would you really care about who people have sex with? Really, it's none of our business. Tolerance and kindness are all that matters. "

Jackie wrote on Feb 21, 2007 11:45 AM:

" Even for those of us who do "Choose" to live with, love, embrace, accept same sex relationships, it is still not "wrong." The small brained neandrathal (sp?) who labels "choices" others make as "wrong" is sadly capable of not realizing that civilzed, progressive societies are based in "choices." Yes, even the choice of who one sleeps with, lives with, makes love with, etc. etc. etc. Have a wonderful day...... "

karl logan wrote on Feb 21, 2007 10:58 AM:

" That's right, Billy, Homosexuality is NOT an "alternative lifestyle choice" because it's not a CHOICE at all; it's the way that certain people are born, and as unchangeable as YOUR own sexuality! Congratulations on finally admitting the truth and weighing in on the side of scientific consensus; you are coming a long way from your previous bigotry! I encourage you to stay on the side of truth and keep informing your audience that homosexuality is NOT A CHOICE!!! See, Bill; there's things that we Liberals can agree on with you radical, far-right, uncommunistic, flaming Conservatives...how 'bout lunch?! "
