Teen charged with burglary

A 16-year-old teenager was arrested Wednesday by the Cayuga County Sheriff's Office for the burglary of 33 French Ave., Owasco. Cash was stolen during the Friday, Feb. 16, burglary.
David P. Leader, 16, of 31 Melrose Parkway, Owasco, was charged with the felony of second-degree burglary and the misdemeanor of petit larceny.

Investigators are still looking into another French Avenue burglary. That residence was forcibly entered between 10:30 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7. The suspect left on foot and headed in the direction of Vanduyne Avenue, according to the sheriff's office.

Anyone with information regarding the burglary is asked to call Detective Brian Schenck at 253-3545.
