A young man is wheeled for a checkup in
a TLC Ambulance rig following a

three-vehicle accident at Dill and North streets in Auburn around 11:25 a.m.

Monday. Driver Gerald Cunningham, 59, of Weedsport, was cited for passing a red light at the intersection. Auburn city police said after Cunningham disregarded the red light on North Street, his southbound Ford pickup caught the tail end of a 1996 Chevy headed west on Dill Street. The Chevy, driven by Stephen Green, 20, of Seneca Falls, was spun around and collided with a 1994 Dodge driven by Karen Withers, 45, of Auburn, that was eastbound on Dill Street, police said. Green's Chevy suffered major damage to its rear fender and bumper area. Everyone involved in the accident was uninjured and declined

transport to the hospital, fire officials said. The Auburn Fire Department, the Auburn Police Department and TLC responded.

" I have traveled all over the world and Auburn has the worst drivers and traffic enforcement I have ever seen "

" First of all, thank goodness nobody was seriously injured. Secondly, why can't Auburn recoup costs from car insurance companies when AFD responds to a traffic accident? Quite frankly, why should the taxpayers of the City of Auburn have to pay for AFD's response to a call because someone from out of town decided to run a red light? "

" The most dangerous street in the city is North St. The police in the city better start giving some speeding tickets out before someone is killed. "

" Just this morning I saw a guy who was p*ssed at how slowly someone was turning in the intersection blast through a light which had been red a good 15-20 seconds -- just lucky it was early morning and no one was coming with a right-of-way on the green cross street (which was 5 & 20 at North St -- I was in the other thru lane waiting at the red) -- too bad there were no cops on the scene, which was just a few hundred yards from the police station! Drivers in Auburn flaunt the law (and safety!) with impunity on a regular basis. "
