Southern Cayuga game canceled
Today's junior varsity basketball game between Southern Cayuga and Lansing has been postponed and will be played Monday, at 7 p.m. in Groton. It was originally scheduled to be played in Moravia but a flu outbreak forced Lansing to cancel school.

The game will determine the division championship.

Hockey tournament begins today

The Squirt Pre-Sectional Youth Hockey Tournament begins today and runs through Sunday. All games will be held at Casey Park.

Games will be played until 6:45 p.m. Friday.

Play begins at 10 a.m. Saturday morning and 8 a.m. Sunday.

Teams from Auburn, Skaneateles, Elmira, Ithaca, Binghamton and Camillus will participate.

March Madness deadline today

The Auburn Maroons March Madness Basketball League begins March 5 for boys in grades fourth through eighth who reside in the Auburn City School District.

Deadline for accepting applications is Friday, Feb. 9.

Soccer sign-ups begin next week

Fingerlakes Minor Soccer League has announced its sign-up dates.

In Auburn, registration will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Feb. 17, and March 3, at Westside P&C.

In Port Byron, registration will be from 10 a.m. to noon Feb. 24, and March 3, at the Middle School lobby.

In Weedsport, registration will be from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Feb. 17, at Weedsport Elementary and from 9 a.m. to noon March 3, at Elbridge Big M.

Baseball coaches must submit letter

Anyone interested in being a Little League or Pony League baseball coach is required to submit a letter to the league in order to coach for the 2007 season, regardless of past coaching history.

The deadline is Feb. 15. Letters can be sent to P.O. box 492, Auburn, NY 13021.

Snowball softball two weeks away

The second annual Y-Pals Co-ed Snowball Softball game will take place Saturday, Feb. 24, at Casey Park.

The team fee is $100 ($10 per person), and a buffet will be available from 3 to 6 p.m., provided by Curley's Restaurant.

Pitching clinic resumes Monday

There will be a softball pitching clinic for girls in grades third through eighth in the Auburn school district from 7 to 8 p.m. Mondays, Feb. 12 and 26, and March 5 and 12, at Seward Elementary.

The donation is $3 per session, and pitchers will need someone to catch for them.

The clinic is being put on by the Auburn High School coaching staff, current and former players, and invited guests.
