" The other day I saw a very minor fender bender, however there were 3 police cars attending to this, none of the cars were blocking traffic and the people involved were on the sidewalk talking to 3 APD officers. If 3 wasnt enough as I passed by the scene, another APD car was coming down the street to join his buddies. How many police need to show up to something that minor??? Meanwhile in the rest of the city you cant find a cop if you needed one. AND then last night on my way home from work I saw 2 APD cars parked next to each other talking. Police beats on the streets??? Maybe if they did thier job from thier car we wouldnt need to consider walking beats on the streets! The thugs and the PBJ gang (the name kills me too funny) run free because APD is too busy looking the other way and wasting manpower on stupid things! Get real APD and do you job for a change! "

" Here's the problem with Auburn, You've got run-down houses because, people are leaving the city, due to lack of decent paying jobs. They sell their homes to some slumlord who turns into rental property and lets it go to pot. This has been the trend for years. People move up here from the big city to be closer to daddy and rent those houses. After the house is no longer habitable they let the city take it over. and there it sits...Now, since their aren't very many high paying jobs in Auburn, who do you think is going to be able to buy those houses and fix them up? Even if some savior did buy them, and fix them, who would be able to afford to rent it? This is why Auburn needs higher paying jobs!!! Keep bringing in the $8 an hour retail stores, and keep watching Auburn turn into slumville!!! "

" Some of the neighborHOODS in Auburn are all run-down because people are too scared to stand up to the trouble makers that are bringing them down. Instead, they move out, allowing more riff-raff to move to in. Seems as if it's too late in some areas to fix the problem, seeing that almost all of the decent folks have moved out. Those Hoods have just become different degrees of bad people. But for the other NeighborHOODS on the verge of becoming Hoods, the decent people need to get tough, and stand up to the Thugs, because they have been allowed to move onto streets and ruin them for long enough now, because people have been too scared to do anything about it. The police need to be more of a presence, working along side with the residents as well. The city of Auburn has ordinances in place to control run down homes, call the code enforcement officer, they have to respond, if the property owners do not comply, they will be fined, if they still don't comply the city can place a lien on their property!!! If you want to clean up your neighborhoods, you need to take action. Think about it, you may be complying and abiding by the law, but if you allow others to break it, then you're just as guilty as they are. On that note, maybe the city should hire a couple more Code Enforcement Officers. "

" I have to laugh at a new proposed law being introduced in New York -- the banning of iPods and other hand-held electronic devices in crosswalks -- because three people in Brooklyn have been killed recently when they were hit by vehicles because they were distracted by their electronic devices. In Auburn, we can't even get the police to do anything about drivers using cell phones in their cars -- good luck stopping pedestrians from talking on their cell phones and listening to iPods while crossing the street when they should be focussed on not getting hit by those same drivers talking on their cells phones while failing to stop at the crosswalks! Meanwhile, I am still having Dangerous Adventures with Snowplows -- after last week being forced onto the shoulder twice and once into the lane of on-coming traffic all in the space of perhaps 5 miles, this week I watched a plow operator cross the center line with his head turned a full 90 degrees as he was looking intently across the field to one side of the road and not watching where he was driving (like, almost driving into me!) at the same time. I am starting to wonder if I have some kind of crossbow target on my car that says Hey, Snowplow Drivers -- Hit me! "
