Since Mr. Vargason can't seem to figure out how all that heroin and crack gets into Auburn Prison. I imagine Mr. Spitzer, when he gets around to it, will.
You know it is almost terrifying, really, to see the power of some alleged news stations to deceive gullible viewers into believing the most ridiculous nonsense out there. The story about Hillary spreading lies about Obama was a deliberate lie propagated by the people at Fox News and this has been proven by Keith Olbermann.

Roy Brown should replace Jim Vargason as county DA.

Unapologetic, unyielding, secretive, smug, arrogant, pompous, deceitful, self-centered, bull-headed, reckless, blind to the truth, spoiled rotten - sure sounds like Bush and Cheney.

It's very difficult to fight a war when almost every member of the Democrat Party, 95 percent of the media, and 95 percent of academia are on the side of the terrorists - cheering against America.

Jerry DelFavero, I just swept my garage. Do you need the salt that fell off my car; it's enough to do my street?

You have to be psycho to believe in psychics.

$1 trillion will be the price tag for Bush's boondoggle in Iraq. The ones who will collect it are mercenaries, war privateers and Republican cronies of Bush, while the American taxpayer foots the bill.

Look at it this way kids. If the school buses weren't running that day, you would have had the day off.

It's very disturbing that Joe Biden, who has been protecting the Muslim terrorists for years, started his political campaign with the most offensive, racist slur ever heard in politics in America. Let's see if the liberal media tries to protect him on this one.

Recall that Legislator Lockwood could not garner two-thirds of his colleagues votes to get appointed to the county emergency management political plum position he sought. Now he spearheads tabling the re-enactment of the same resolution.

I guess the Auburn City Council has subscribed to the old saying that distance lends itself to enchantment when it comes to selecting a city manager, right - wrong! Give the job to Mike Long; he deserves it.

Please, someone, do something to get more jobs in Auburn. We need real jobs, not $8 per hour jobs.

I'd like to know why it is allowed that when these inmates are incarcerated in this prison here in Auburn, they can come out in this community with their families and live in our community. I remember years and years ago when this was not permitted, and I think they should go back to that rule.

Why do people in the city court office have to treat you like you're a criminal, even if you don't have handcuffs on? I was there the other day and asked a simple question and was treated like a criminal.

To the people that think George Bush is doing a good job in Iraq: Why don't we see the news media put more of the good they are doing there if there is any. The surge should be 50,000 to 100,000 people.

If there is an ordinance banning animals defecating in public, who's guilty of not enforcing the law.

Sen. Joseph Biden, a long-time professional politician, will be recognized for being one of the few for being honest. Go Joe!

Why is it that we single, hardworking tax payers can't file as “head of household” when we are heads of our household. I'm totally disgusted by the fact that everyone I work with gets back literally thousands of dollars when I get back from the feds just about enough to pay my state tax every year.

Let's see, John Chick's job title is county carpenter. What civil service list did this come from?

" Right on Joyce. Isn't it time we put this idiotic turf debate to rest? The voters said NO. What part of NO do the proponents understand? AS I said before, the people who want the turf should pony up for it themselves. I'd rather see tax money going for books or other useful programs that would benefit all students than to a questionable luxury for a few athletes. "

" If you really beleive the democratic party is on the side of the terrorists then we have a comfortable padded room for you and three meals a day in the state looney bin. How can you be so narrow-minded to believe that your view is the only one. There is no help for you. "

Canine Waste Removal wrote on Feb 5, 2007 5:41 PM:

" To the person wondering if their is an ordinance regarding canine waste removal: I did some searching, and it appears to be a NY state law, called the "pooper scooper" law, (Public Health Law 1310) only enforceable in cities of 400,000 or more, Yonkers and Albany. Also, searched the City Of Auburn, Municipal Codes, and I found no ordinaces regarding canine waste removal either, so, I guess it's ok for people to let their dogs crap wherever they want to, and not clean it up. Just another wonderful benefit of living in Auburn. "

" Can anyone say global warming is happening and not get one heck of a chuckle out it? It was 2 degrees this morning. Its all hog wash made up by the UN. Recall the cow and methane adding to global warming they came up with. India is going to be in HUGE trouble. "

Joyce wrote on Feb 5, 2007 1:44 PM:

" A letter published in today's Rochester newspaper: Turf could hurt more than wallets Objections to the Greece Central School District's $6.7 million plan for artificial turf fields have been on the basis of cost (Jan. 21 story, "Greece may trim turf plan"). Other negatives should be considered. The new type of turf has not been in use long enough to know about all injury possibilities, let alone chronic conditions that might show up only years later. There is no way to trace a child's injury on turf. Agriculture researcher Brad Fresenburg, at the University of Missouri, has noted, "Natural grass has a microbial system. It's self-cleaning. These synthetic fields don't have that. ... There's sweat, spit and blood." If infections occurred, who would trace them to the turf? Environmental effects of artificial turf involve everyone. Its manufacture uses up precious petroleum. When installed, the quality of air declines from the loss of greenery; and run-off may affect groundwater. Once worn out, the turf takes up landfill space. Until impact statements are required for artificial turf, the health of human beings and of the environment should take priority. "

Oh, you mean those, like 95% of Americans, who can't keep their attention focussed long enough to figure out anything more complex than can be conveyed in a sound byte? "

Rumi wrote on Feb 5, 2007 11:57 AM:

Income Taxes wrote on Feb 5, 2007 11:03 AM:

" It's your paycheck, not a savings account. If you are getting "thousands of dollars" back in income taxes you need to adjust your withholdings. Your paychecks will be bigger and you can put the extra cash in a savings account where *you* earn interest on it, instead of lending it to Uncle Sam all year. "

" There isn't an ordinance banning animals for defecating in public. Dogs and cats can't use the facilities much like we humans can. They are also not very private in there ways, but they can't help this nor can we enforce a ban like this. I think what you meant was cleaning up after they had a good bowel movement. "
