The Auburn Police Department has identified Shannon L. Nobles, 22, of King Ferry, as the driver of a vehicle that crashed into a car parked on Genesee Street in Auburn around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Nobles was airlifted to University Hospital in Syracuse because of severe facial and head injuries. Nobles was listed in fair condition Wednesday evening.
Police said that alcohol consumption may have been a contributing factor in the accident, but they are waiting for the results of a blood alcohol test. Accident witness Laurie Schillawski, of 239 Genesee St., Auburn said she saw the westbound vehicle zipping down the road, hit the parked car owned by Eric Wilkinson, of 272 Genesee St., and spin out of control in the middle of the road.
The Auburn Fire Department and TLC Ambulance also responded to the scene.
