Employment is down from a recent high of about 200 and former employees have alleged the company is behind on its health insurance payments.

The original wallpapering, although faded, still adorns its walls. And now multi-millionaire Pleasant Rowland plans to renovate the vacant landmark, once the home of Dr. Albert Leffingwell, a prominent physician and former village mayor.

Rowland purchased the house last May for $300,000 from Leffingwell's granddaughter, Tracy, who inherited the rundown structure from her mother when she died of cancer about two years ago.
