Lee Memorial to be outpatient center
A.L. Lee Memorial Hospital in Fulton, slated to be converted into an outpatient urgent care center under a state commission's recommendations that became law Jan. 1, is reminding the public it is still open and ready to serve its community.
The hospital is also asking the public to log onto the web site www.allee.org, to read the latest news about the hospital's status and add their thoughts to the hospital's blog.
The commission's recommendations do not have to be implemented until June 2008.
A.L. Lee is hoping to change the recommendation for its future by stressing that there were inaccuracies about the hospital included in the commission's reports and stressing how Lake Ontario's lake effect snows will endanger lives if ambulances must travel to Oswego Hospital during whiteout conditions.
