Two Cents

If the County legislators are spending $26 million over last year's budget, they certainly can spend $60,000 for a watershed inspector to protect our Cayuga County lakes.
What gives V.P. Cheney the right to send young men and women to Iraq when he did not serve in the military himself?

Sheriff David Gould, we need more patrols out here in Owasco and cars moving slower.

The public is sick of Cosentino's consistent anti-Lattimore's column. Is he going to show this jealousy until next November?

I would like to pay tribute to Murray Lynch, who I feel is a true Christian gentleman. I also appreciate the way he speaks out on issues of national concern.

President Bush, let's not stop now; let's have more American body count.

Referring to George Fearon, he hasn't done anything all year except raise the taxes and the asbestos fiasco and he's looking for a free ride now at taxpayer expense. Once you resign, you resign.

Come on downtown Auburn storefront owners, stop charging so much rent. Then maybe some new people with small incomes could rent a space and open new stores to bring in new business for our city.

" I don't question the authority of CONGRESS to send people into combat -- I question the right of the President -- because I DID read the Constitution. "

" For those uniformed people who question the authority to send people into combat the answer to their question can be found in the Constitution. "

" Like the new Governor needs any advice from our mayor, hopefully Lattimore won't embarass us in Albany, and hopefully he won't get into any fistfights. "

Feral Cat Info wrote on Jan 3, 2007 2:27 PM:

" In yesterday's Two Cents, there were questions about information for dealing with feral cats in Auburn. I did a little digging and found the following: From: Auburn City Council Meeting #33 Thursday August 4, 2005 9:00AM Regular Business Meeting "Alicia McKeen, representing Feral Cat Friends reported on recent activities of the group. Over the past weekend they had spayed, neutered and released 66 stray cats. She explained the projected number of cats that would be born if these 66 were not taken care of. She gave the phone number for FCF's as 252-2406 and the web site address of www.feralcatfriends.com . Mayor Lattimore thanked her and the group for their work. She asked if Council would consider a financial contribution to the organization." There was also an article in the Citizen on 5 Aug 2005 at: http://www.auburnpub.com/articles/2005/08/05/news/local_news/news03.txt from which this excerpt is taken: "AUBURN - The feral cat problem in Auburn won't be disappearing any time soon, but potential city funds could lead to improvements. Alicia McKeen, a member of the Feral Cat Friends group in Auburn, said even with the organization's efforts, it will be at least 10 years before the city starts seeing a decrease in cats. McKeen visited the city council Thursday to ask the city for help in dealing with the feral cat problem. "We need financial support to continue this service," McKeen said. "We have stabilized many colonies in the city."" Hope this helps. "

" Why has the audio on the past couple televised council meetings been of such terrible quality that it practically cannot be heard? Didn't the council spend thousands on installing a brand new sound system just a couple years ago? "

" What gives someone who DID serve in the military the right to send our sons and daughters to die? Especially since our government long ago ceased ignorning the checks and balances -- like the idea that Congress alone has the right to declare war.... "
