Body training class offered at YMCA
The Auburn YMCA-WEIU is offering a Future Body Training program, designed for those who want to receive personalized instruction in cardiovascular and strength training.

Future Body participants meet two or three days per week for 45 to 60 minutes.

Sessions are seven weeks in length and a new session begins the week of Jan. 2.

Union Springs to host alumni night

The Union Springs High School wrestling team is having an alumni night, Jan. 10, at the high school.

The Wolves invite alumni to attend for desserts and coffee in the cafeteria before the 5 p.m. match against Groton.

Bass Pro ice derby set for Feb. 24

Bass Pro Shops annual ice derby will be from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 24, at Owasco Lake.

Participants can register at Bass Pro Shops Sportsman's Center until Friday, Feb. 23, or at the Cascade Grill and the Auburn Express Mart.

The event is open to all licensed adults and children. Anglers must register before fishing.

There will be one prize per person per division.

The fee is $10 for adults and $5 for children 13 and under.

AHS memorabilia available now

Now available at the Auburn School District Athletic Office at 78 Thornton Ave is a 16x20 composite poster with highlight pictures from the NYS Class AA Football game.

The cost for each poster is $20. Also available are two bumper stickers, one reading Section III Football Champions and the other reading NYSPHSAA Class AA State Football Champions.

The cost is $3 each or $5 for both.

The state champions bumper stickers are also available at Lewis Restaurant and Balloons Restaurant. For more information, call 255-8817.

Senior strength class offered at YMCA

The Auburn YMCA-WEIU is offering Senior Strength, an individualized strength training program for active older adults, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Certified strength-training instructors will assist with orientation and workouts.

The class is free for Y-members.

Varmint hunting seminar is Jan. 6

Bass Pro Shops will host varmint hunting seminars at 1 and 3 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 6.

The topics will include vocalizations, researching an area, coyote behaviors, professional techniques, camo tips and optic choices among others.

The seminar will take place in the open floor near the fish tank.
