Sharpshooter
Tim Pierce could always shoot the basketball, he's just now getting a chance to really show it.
There seemed to always be something in Pierce's way. Three years ago, as a freshman at Cato-Meridian, he was a stunted 5-foot-2 guard. There were plants bigger than him.
Sophomore year, Pierce sprouted 6 inches. The height increase did not alter his shot, which has been a work in progress since Pierce's father first introduced the game to his son via a miniature goal in their basement more than a decade ago. The school district, though, canceled athletics that year due to budget constraints.
