The grand jury indictment of John Chick in part says,“On or about February 2006, the Cayuga County Board of Elections Building in Auburn, N.Y. had a boiler that needed to be repaired or replaced.
The chairman of Cayuga County Board of Legislators and John Chick decided to replace the boiler and attendant pipes which extended throughout various rooms and hallways.”
The chairman of the Legislature was George Fearon, who has requested that $500,000 be set aside in the 2007 Cayuga County budget to pay “fines and penalties” for the asbestos removal at the Board of Elections.
Now we know why Chairman Fearon made the request before the indictment was made public by the U.S. Attorney.
Maybe Chairman Fearon will tell us all the rest of the story?
After all it is us taxpayers that are at risk here.
I agree, Chairman Fearon must not continue to serve.
Or is he looking for a deal like Hevisi's? Resign and plea bargain to a lessor charge?
