Moon lights the way for night time skiing, snowshoeing

Thursday, December 28, 2006 10:10 AM EST

If the opportunity to connect with Mother Nature intrigues you, Beaver Lake Nature Center, weather permitting, will offer the opportunity for you to get out and strap the snow shoes or skiis on, and try Moonlight Skiing & Snowshoeing until 9 p.m. Friday through Sunday, at the Center, off Route 370, in Baldwinsville.
This is the opportunity for skiers and snowshoers to take advantage of the natural moonlight along Beaver Lake's 10 miles of trails. Hot chocolate and other refreshments will be available in the visitor center.

For safety purposes, night visitors should sign-in and out, go with a friend and bring a flashlight in case a section of the trail is especially dark.

Before going, call the center to check on conditions. The cost is free with park admission. Snowshoes rent for $3. No preregistration is required.

For more information, call 638-2519.
