Nozzolio gets in holiday spirit with tax breaks

Saturday, December 23, 2006 11:39 PM EST

With the holiday season upon us and another year coming to an end, I would like to express my thanks and appreciation to the people I serve in the New York State Senate.
Public service is a responsibility that I take very seriously and I am humbled by the incredible amount of support I have received over the years. I will continue to work hard to uphold the confidence that the people of the 54th District have placed in me.

I enter my next term with a renewed determination to fight for lower taxes, more jobs and an economic climate in New York state that encourages sound business development and entrepreneurship.

The overburdened taxpayers of New York deserve as much.

There are a number of reforms that must be initiated to make our state government operate more effectively and I fully support efforts to make government more open and responsive.

I look forward to the New Year with anticipation, enthusiasm, and the belief that the best is yet to come.

I believe that we have only just begun to explore the opportunities that await us in the future and that will benefit our families and the generations of tomorrow.

It is an honor to serve as your state senator.

I thank you for your support and extend my warmest wishes for a safe and happy holiday season.

" With regard to the letter from Nozzolio, and the response of "john"--- Spitzer, like Nozzolio, are like the guy in the bar at 2am----he'll tell the girl anything to get her into bed. Even the politician with the best intentions, will change his/her course, to solidify his/her own interests. So, that being said, do you think for a minute that anything will change in Albany? Has anything changed in the 54th district in the tenure of Senator Nozzolio? He even mentions the "over burdened taxpayers" in his state, but hat has he done? Why, after all of these years, are we still over burdened? I know Nozzolio's answer--I voted for this......I voted for that.......--mightly white of ya! How about placing term limits so fat cats like Pataki, and the above mentioned senator, don't get so intertwined in the system that they become part of the problem? Now, Senator Nozzolio, nothing personal, you just happen to be the flavor of the hour because of your letter, but you are so typical of the political system of today. If your district were a business answering to shareholders, and an accurate, untainted report of your performance were broadcast, would you be fired? Don't say that the voters have spoken, and you count that as an approval. Ask yourself the hard question. One last word--when our founding fathers created our simple system of representation, they in no way meant for you to sit as a career. You are no longer one of "us", you are that guy taking my taxes, voting yourself a raise, and retiring with a larger pension than me for doing nothing more than keeping us burdened taxpayers at bay. " As all of us are aware of, is collecting taxes where taxes are supposed to be collected. The Supreen Court ruled in 1994 that New York State could collect tax from indian owned enterprises from no-indian customers. Now seeing that the state has been loosing 3-4 million per year since 1994, this is where our taxes could be reduced. BUT!!!! Pataki has refused to due the job he was elected to do and taxes still remain to go uncollected, seeing that Pataki and his wife have frendly ties to Ray Halbritter of the Turning Stone Casino, and this is how he does his job for the tax payers. Lets hope that Spitzer is his own man and not another polical mistake. "
