Women's park no longer collects fees
The Women's Rights National Historic Park in Seneca Falls will no longer collect entrance fees for the park or for tours of the Elizabeth Cady Stanton House after Jan. 2, 2007. The park has been collecting $3 entrance fees and $1 home tour fees as part of the Federal Lands Recreation Enhancement Act.
Girl Scouts send cookies to troops
Girl Scouts in the Seven Lakes Council have sent more than 3,000 boxes of Girl Scout Cookies to U.S. troops stationed overseas through the United Service Organizations.
Scouts gave customers the option of buying cookies for armed forces and other local organizations, in addition to supporting Scouts by buying cookies for their own friends and families.
Wells College elects board members
The Wells College Board of Trustees elected three members to the board during its fall meeting.
John Andrew Noel, of Ithaca, is the director of athletics and physical education at Cornell University.
Stephen L. Zabriskie, of Aurora, has been elected to a fourth term as trustee.
Carrie Collins, a 2006 graduate of Wells College, was also elected a trustee. Collins, of Soldotna, Alaska, was president of the Collegiate Cabinet during her senior year and graduated in May with distinction in public affairs: ethics, politics and social policy.
