I thought these beautiful photos from SS. Peter and Paul School would warm your heart, as they did mine. They bring back so many happy memories of childhood days. How fortunate we are to have this gem of a school right here in Auburn.

On Dec. 6, Feast of St. Nicholas, 14 boys were inducted as altar boys during the 9 a.m. Divine Liturgy. The Rev. Mihai Dubovici, prayed a special blessing upon them and gave each a special pin to wear symbolizing their privilege and responsibility to serve at our Lord's Altar.

On Dec. 8, Feast of the Immaculate Conception, 23 girls were received into the Sodality of Mary. The girls recited an act of Faith, Hope and Love to the Mother of God. Mihai presented each sodalist with a medal and a sash bearing the emblem of the Society of Mary. The new sodalists and altar boys enjoyed refreshments in the afternoon to celebrate. Sister Kathleen Hutsko, SSMI, is the moderator.

€ The Auburn Alliance Church, located at 630 N. Seward Ave. (near the new Walgreens), will present the cantata, “Shine On Us,” by David Guthrie and Robert Sterling. The adult choir will be directed by Renee Richter.

The cantata begins at 6 p.m., and a musical ensemble will be playing 15 minutes before the service. The public is invited.
