SKANEATELES - The Skaneateles volleyball team made it an interesting match against league rival Westhill, winning in five sets 25-23, 18-25, 25-27, 25-17, 25-16 on Monday.
Anna Leiss led the Lakers with 11 kills and two blocks. Krissy Ryan and Alex Hughes each nailed eight kills; Ryan also had three blocks and Hughes had one. Kelsey Bennett scored five kills and three aces, while Brittany Bird tallied 22 assists and five kills.
The Lakers (5-1) host Bishop Ludden, Dec. 19.
Cato-Meridian 3, Onondaga 1
Marianne Hirsh had 15 aces and six kills in the Blue Devils' 25-27, 32-30, 25-17, 25-14 win. Jennifer Leach had 13 assists and three kills, Carolyn Rodriguez tallied five aces, Nicole Champion had six aces and six kills, Ruth Kazulak contributed three kills and two blocks and Kaitlin Holt had two kills and three blocks.
Cato-Meridian (4-1) hosts Pulaski, Wednesday.
BOYS BASKETBALL
Homer 67, Jordan-Elbridge 61
Nick Chartrand led the Eagles with 18 points - including three 3-pointers - five assists and nine steals in the team's best game of the season. Jason Coleman also converted three 3-pointers and 10 overall points and five assists.
Neal Recckio scored 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds, while Tyler Williams scored 10 points and also had seven rebounds.
Jordan-Elbridge (0-5) is at Bishop Grimes, Wednesday.
BOYS FRESHMAN BASKETBALL
Nottingham 55, Auburn 47
Julaun Richardson led the Maroons with 10 points, while John Fiermonte scored nine and Anthony Pollard added six. Luke Christiantelli led the defense.
Auburn (4-4) travels to Liverpool on Friday.
